How the Invoice OCR Processor Works

This tool uses Tesseract.js — a powerful open-source OCR engine that runs entirely in your browser. When you upload an invoice image, the engine recognises the text and our parser extracts the key fields automatically.

What Gets Extracted

  • Invoice Number — e.g. INV-001, #12345
  • Date — Invoice date or issue date
  • Vendor Name — The business that issued the invoice
  • Total Amount — The total payable (inc. GST if applicable)
  • GST / Tax Amount — The tax component
  • ABN — Australian Business Number (if present)

Privacy & Security

Your invoice images never leave your device. All OCR processing happens client-side using Tesseract.js running in your browser. No data is uploaded to any server, making this tool completely safe for sensitive financial documents.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use clear, well-lit scans or photos
  • Ensure text is straight and not skewed
  • PNG files typically produce better results than JPEG
  • For handwritten invoices, results may vary — printed text works best
  • Maximum file size: 10MB
